Prefabricated modular homes are fast becoming the preferred solution to residential and commercial building across Australia, with the sector estimated to grow by 15% over the next 5 years. Prebuilt Australia were one of the first modular builders to shift perceptions in the industry by delivering bespoke architecturally designed buildings to a sophisticated client base across Australia since 2003. ‘Our homes are architecturally designed by Pleysier Perkins Architects our clients have the flexibility to choose from our range of pre-designed homes or complete a custom build.’
‘Each home is built in weeks and installed in days’ notes Prebuilt’s Marketing Manager, Anthea Bloye Unlike traditional building methods, where a home’s floor base and frame are exposed to the elements for extended periods during construction, Prebuilt has more than 40,000 square meters of factory space. It is here – undercover and away from the weather – that their clients’ homes are built. Whilst Prebuilt offer a range of pre-designed homes they also provide the flexibility for clients to create a custom home, either by starting out with one of the pre-designed homes and tailoring it to suit their personal requirements or exploring a unique idea and working with Prebuilt’s architectural partner Pleysier Perkins to bring it to life. Prebuilt’s Residential Sales Manager, Nicole O’Reilly has noted a strong trend toward custom built homes in both Victoria and New South Wales over the past 12 months. Prebuilt work in mostly coastal areas and have done a lot of work in Mornington Peninsula, Melbourne CBD & surrounds, Sydney (Bondi, Bronte, Freshwater, Clovelly). ‘They (our clients) feel confident in the knowledge and experience our team possesses,’’ Ms O’Reilly said. ‘They feel that the process is seamless with clear cost definition throughout so that there are no hidden surprises. They love the faces behind the business from the support of our sales team to the project managers, each person has a role to play in ensuring our clients are happy.’ To ensure quality is delivered with each and every project, following the design process and during the documentation phase, Prebuilt engages architects Pleysier Perkins to independently review all drawings. While construction is taking place, the company also conducts weekly inspections. Prebuilt has factory foremen and onsite foremen managing construction and installation of all their homes. A project manager/engineer is also appointed to oversee the creation of the home, ensuring inspections are carried out during each stage. Ms Bloye said the company is proud of their Jan Juc house sitting proudly on a prominent corner inside the beachside hamlet. ‘The brief was unique and complex as the owners wanted the ability to use only the upstairs or open up the whole double storey house for larger extended family stays,’ she said. ‘The design was customized to include five bedrooms and two living rooms to enable privacy for up to two families, essentially splitting into two apartments when required, each with its own dedicated entry and discrete outdoor spaces. The design integrates clever outdoor lockable storage for surfboards and wetsuits and an outdoor shower. The interiors follow a Scandinavian colour scheme of soft greys and pale timbers reflecting the beachside location. A feature fireplace on the marble hearth creates a focus for the first floor living area in the cooler months. The clients love the large format double glazed windows that maximises their opportunity for both ocean and sand dune views.’ For more information go to Prebuilt. Comments are closed.
